We finally got some colder weather this week and my kiddos were begging for snow. Unfortunately, without precipitation, it can be cold but there will not be snow. So, I decided let’s make some instant snow.
Instant Snow in Winter
While I would love to bring some snow from outside in to play with or realistically to get outside and play in the snow. We have not had much snow yet this season. So on this Sensory Saturday, it was fairly bitter cold outside and yet there was no snow out. So we decided to make some instant snow and bring the fun inside. The best part of this activity is watching what they create and how they play with the snow. Over the summer it was snowmen and sledding hills that their Little People would sled down.
Sensory Feel
As I am sure you are catching on, we absolutely love sensory play. This is truly one of those activities where I feel that my kids can get completely absorbed into play and tend to ask for it again. It is a simple activity where they can get messy and just be kids! One of the fun surprises about instant snow is that it feels cool to the touch, especially initially. Sometimes it does warm up a bit with play. The feel of the snow is moldable while still with a slight crunch, it is the texture of perfect snowball snow!
