Alright, it is Sensory Saturday at our house, so here is the sensory bin we are currently using! This time, we are making a fun fall sensory bin with corn kernels.
Fun Fall Sensory Bin
This may have been my children’s favorite sensory bin this fall. I am not sure if it was the amount of corn, the incorporation of items from nature, or just what they needed at the time. They played with this bin for days on end. This bin was so simple to create. It is all items from around the house and corn kernels. We threw in some fall decorations at times as well.

Activities in the Fun Fall Sensory Bin
My kids can come up with all sorts of ideas when they are playing in the sensory bin. This time their favorite activity was actually a game of hide and seek. One kiddo would be in charge of hiding and the other would work to find an item. The most common way that they did this was with the egg carton. They ran around the yard and collected some acorns which were the perfect size to fit inside of the egg carton but still be hidden under the corn kernels.
They quickly turned this into a game. Each kid would hide a certain number of acorns in their egg carton and if the other kiddos could find the acorn within three turns, they would get to pick a pumpkin from the patch. This went on with multiple variations: hiding different items, finding multiple items for a prize, different prizes, etc.
